New dining amenities fulfill Cameratta Companies’ vision at The Place

ESTERO, Fla. (Aug. 6, 2019) – With the opening of a new community restaurant and bar, master developer Cameratta Companies completed the final phase of amenities at The Place at Corkscrew, a gated, Southern Plantation-inspired community of lake- and preserve-view homes in Estero. The Place was recently announced as the No. 1 selling community in Southwest Florida.

More than 500 residents and guests recently gathered for grand opening events at the Barefoot Bar & Grill Restaurant and the Bourbon Bar. The 10,000-square-foot space also includes a multi-purpose room for community events and private parties.

Cameratta Companies Director of Design Laura Youmans envisioned the interior of the Barefoot Bar & Grill as an industrial space with an urban vibe. A clean and cool design is achieved with a neutral color scheme and a blend of raw woods, exposed brick and unfinished metals.

“We balanced the functionality of the indoor-outdoor aspect of the space with a clean-lined elegance softened by greenery,” said Youmans. “We selected custom-finished chairs with a grey wash that ties into the Bourbon Bar and multi-purpose room.”

The handsome Bourbon Bar is imbued with a feeling of warmth that is enhanced by rich wood finishes, a brushed iron chandelier and sconces, and groupings of soft leather sofas and crocodile-embossed chairs that create intimate conversation areas.

A multi-toned distressed oak wood floor is paired with a copper ceiling accented with dark wood beams. “We also custom-designed real bourbon barrels into the niche,” said Youmans.

Just outside the Bourbon Bar, a cigar bar fire pit completes the experience.

Food and Beverage Director John Garces said strategically positioned televisions punctuate the restaurant, bar, private dining area and the outside pool bar, making the clubhouse an ideal destination to meet with friends to enjoy televised sporting events.

The Barefoot Bar & Grill menu, designed by Executive Chef Matthew St. Onge, features casual favorites, like a tuna poke bowl, flatbread pizzas and grouper sandwiches. In the Bourbon Bar, Garces and St. Onge collaborated to present small plates, including devilled eggs, bacon wrapped chicken wings and a charcuterie plate, along with a menu of crafted cocktails and a curated collection of wine and fine bourbons.

Garces noted that residents have welcomed the Bourbon Bar as both a pre-dinner cocktail spot and a place for post-dinner drinks and conversation.

“Live music also plays an important role in creating the sense of place in these venues,” said Garces. “I’ve worked in many clubs over the years, but none have had a vision quite as unique as The Place.”

Additional amenities at The Place include a grand 12,500-square-foot clubhouse featuring a two-story fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment and aerobics studio, massage therapy rooms, a café and marketplace, and a Kids Club complete with children’s books and activities.

The Place offers an array of resort-style amenities, including a 12,000-square-foot pool and 600-square-foot spa, soothing rock waterfalls, a 100-foot waterslide and splash pad/interactive water feature, and an expansive pool deck with cabanas and fire pits. A fenced playground with swings, slides and shade structures is adjacent to two 33-foot Sky Run Zip Tracks.

The community’s active residents enjoy tennis, pickleball and bocce courts, a beach volleyball court, a half basketball court, and a tennis pro shop. Responding to resident interest and popularity of pickleball, Cameratta Companies recently announced the addition of four new pickleball courts, bringing the total to eight pickleball courts within the community. There is also a picnic pavilion with multi-purpose grass field for outdoor sporting events and a 4,000-square-foot, fully enclosed dog park with benches, a water station and an unleashing area.

“The Place is more than a resort-style community. It’s a lifestyle in and of itself,” said Nick Cameratta, CEO of Cameratta Companies. “By design, its amenities create a myriad of opportunities for family fun and encourage camaraderie among neighbors – all surrounded by a setting of restored natural vegetation and enhanced wetlands. It’s a place where people long to be away from the hustle and bustle yet close to the cultural activity nearby in Gulf Coast Town Center, Miromar Outlets and Coconut Point.”

The Place at Corkscrew offers homebuyers a vast selection of one- and two-story residences from nationally recognized builders Pulte Homes, a national brand of PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE: PHM) and Lennar (NYSE: LEN and LEN.B) ranging from 1,674 to 4,800 square feet and starting from the upper $200,000’s to $700,000’s.

Offering a sought-after location south of Fort Myers and north of Naples, The Place is minutes from top-rated schools, Southwest Florida International Airport, world-class shopping, dining and golf, and the beautiful Gulf beaches.
